Weekend at Boston
Eric and I reunited this past weekend in Boston after a seemingly longggg break. Although we didn’t do some things as planned, we still had a great time, traveling around the city (and saying how NYC is nevertheless better, despite the cooler/cleaner train stations in Boston
).
So. Friday. We both got to Boston a bit before 2, checked into the hotel, napped, and then went back out for food and shopping at Quincy Market and Downtown Crossing
Bought a new pair of shoes for Eric and myself (which I am overly excited about) ;D Then watched TV and pigged out. Soo good. <3
Saturday. Woke up late ’cause we’re both pigs. :3 Shopped [more] at Quincy Market and Downtown Crossing, visiting Chinatown along the way. Then spent the rest of the day shopping at Prudential, dinner-ing at the Cheesecake Factory (yumyum <3). Finally went back to Park St and watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Got back pretty late and decided to indulge ourselves in yummy Godiva truffles -drool- while watching TV ;D
Sunday. Rushed out of hotel to check out in time, haha. Met up with Greg and Gim Seng for dim sum. Walked around Chinatown and Downtown Crossing a bit before heading to South Station to drop me off. My bus was a bit more than half an hour late, and when it finally came, it was a random non-wifi bus (grr). Eric and Gim Seng then went off to Gim Seng’s dorm at Harvard. …There they played these mind-exercising games that only nerdy physicists play. Haha just kid ;D <3
Unfortunately we didn’t take any pictures, but I certainly had a good time just being with Eric. Doesn’t seem like much, from what I wrote.. but it felt much more productive than that, I promise
haha. Just another two more weeks until busy Eric gets his butt back to Wes. He has a very disgusting schedule: 9AM-8PM = BUSY with lectures and projects
His first day of classes was today and he seems to be the only undergrad there. o.O
Well.. until then..

Happy New Year
Dear Vicky,
Happy New Year! Can you believe how quickly the last one went by? It really fills my heart with joy, thinking back on all the happy months I spent with you. There is so much I am grateful for, you give me companionship and love that makes me truly happy. I have lived more in these past 10 months than I ever did before, and it is all because of you. Darling, I have never been so in love. ♥
I wonder what 2009 has in store for us. Nothing makes me happier than the thought of yet another semester with each other, yet I know my graduation hangs over us like a gloomy specter. Don’t let this get you down, after all, the past year was not without its own trials and tribulations. Some things could have gone better, but darling, just think, things could just as easily have been much, much worse. I am lucky to be alive, and grateful for the chance to be with you.
Hopefully my graduate schools applications will turn out favorably, and I will not end up too far from you. Whatever happens, I am going to visit as often as I can. -hugs- I want you to know that I will always be there for you, to support you and love you. There are rough patches ahead of us, my love, but we will persevere, I promise you that.
So Happy New Year darling, and always be happy.
Love and many kisses
Eric
P.S. Roo sends his love too! ♥ <- he says it is covered in chocolate.

Merry Christmas
Classes are out for the Winter Break, Vicky is back in Brooklyn with her family. After the finals people packed up and say goodbye, full of joy and cheer, excited to be going home again. It’s a beautiful time, snow covers the ground in a blanket of white, icicles form and hang from the awnings. Song and laughter issue from every home, and lights decorate houses by the thousands. Yes, Christmas is in the air.
Living alone on campus, I don’t get any of that. Winter time for me is a sad time, it’s beauty both cold and bleak. The days are short, and the nights terribly long. When a cold wind blows it chills you, right down to the very bone. It is depressing, coming back every evening to an empty house, and I do so hate cooking for one. I miss the sound of people around the house, I miss the conversations around the kitchen table, and most of all, most painfully of all, I miss my girlfriend.
I won’t lie. I am feeling a little distant from her at the moment. She’s reading the Twilight books I got her for Christmas, and is immersed in a fantasy world I feel a little left out of. When we talk online, she gushes about how beautiful is the love between Bella and Edward, and I can’t help but feel a little jealous. I guess I’m just afraid that, reading about this perfect love, she’s going to feel unsatisfied with me, that she’ll want something more… fulfilling. Sigh, being away from her is so difficult. I miss Vicky so, so much. It’s funny to realize just how much I depend on her for conversation and companionship.
Still, I know she loves me, and that privilege is one I ought to be more grateful for. As we count down the days until we’re together again, I know I’ve never been so in love before. I look forward to, some day, spending many a happy Christmas with her.
So Merry Christmas everyone. Enjoy time with friends and family, sing carols and give presents, and do enjoy some Christmas pudding with brandy butter. Let us all be thankful for the love that we receive.

Almost 9 Months ! ;D
Long time no update ;O SO. Eric just finished taking his physics GREs and general GREs. He’s very much relieved.
Anddd because Eric’s parents unfortunately can’t come to visit this Thanksgiving, here’s a pic we’d like to share with them.

Yeup, it’s Eric sitting inside a gigantic flowerpot.

Eric skillfully doing a fireball.. and looking intimidating.
And Vermont pictures..

And of course.. our beloved ROO <3

And this unfortunately came out blurry..

So tomorrow is our 9 month anniversary! Although Mondays are busiest for Victoria, she’s gonna try to come up with something special ;D
Lately, because Eric has been so busy, Victoria has been feeding him with her own meal swipes.. which will help her jianfei !
Eric feels bad that he’s been neglecting her so much. It’s such a turn-around that she’s the one providing him with meals nowadays.
So that’s about it for this post.. more probably next month or something, haha.

Three Weeks into School
It’s been about three weeks since classes started, and we couldn’t be busier.
..ok well, Eric couldn’t be busier.
We’re happily taking two classes together, but other than that we have fairly different schedules. Not only is he busy over his own classes, but he’s trying to pull everything else together — from TA-ing to studying for the general & physics GRE’s to working in a physics lab during most of his free time so that he might just possibly be able to write something for his senior thesis.
I, merely a sophomore, feel much more relaxed.. and well, bored. I really appreciate the time Eric has taken aside for me though
He’s been giving me movie nights, Prometheus lessons, and best of all, cooked meals ! <3 And then there are all those times when I become a rather troublesome annoying girlfriend and distract him while he does his homework. Like he responded to a friend yesterday, “Well, we were doing homework… and then she got bored. And you know, when she gets bored, I can’t get work done..”
Sorry Eric. =x
But amazingly, he still gets his work done, and ahead of time, too, so I don’t feel *too* bad
Poor Eric now is being sick and walking with a swollen ankle after accidentally hitting himself with his staff.
As for me, the only complaint I’ll whine about is..
my computer’s motherboard died ! :’(
Idk if I should get a new computer (total waste of my year old laptop), fix it and spend a third of the cost of my dead laptop, or what.. But at least I can use Eric’s .. since he’s too busy to use it anyways.
But yeahh.. thanks Eric for being so good to me
Alrighty, end of update and now study time. D:

Happy Belated, Eric!
So yesterday was my dear Eric’s birthday. We started celebrating the day before ;D with a dinner cooked by his housemates and a birthday cake thing afterwards. I viciously creamed Eric >D which made him look like he had a green beard 0=) unfortunately, we don’t have pics.. will have to ask his friends for them.
Sooo.. YESTERDAY. Started with sign language class at 9 in the morning and were freeeee for the rest of the day.
So we had an unwrapping-present ceremony afterwards, which he had much fun with, having to unwrap 6 layers of gift wrap for his two presents (ok.. so I don’t have wrapping paper here at Wes and had to find..other solutions ;x).
^ Fourth layer of gift wrap.
Yes, they were from my Victoria’s Secret catalog. I more or less used up the entire thing..
And this is your birthday boy, with some of the stuff I got him over the summer including his bday presents: a birthday booklet card thing (which I spent half a summer on hahah x_x I know..pathetic :$), his two Victoria’s Secret gift-wrapped presents, Roo from Winnie the Pooh (just ’cause I call Eric “Roo” sometimes), Penelope the Pup (from FAO! ;D), and.. the duvet cover
ehehehe.
So afterwards, we got dressed for In The Heights, a Broadway show written by and featuring a Wes alum. It was an awesome experience, to see the entire audience filled with Wes students, alumni, etc, and to then sing the Wesleyan Fight song in the theater with our mascot jumping up and down and all around on the stage, hahah.
We got back pretty late, at like 1:45AMish, and had a good midnight-snack (aka dinner) while working on Sudoku together.
Overall, we didn’t do much but had a very good time
(Patrick the Pup from FAO shown above ;D given by Eric)

Back on Campus
So I am back on campus after spending a little more than a week in New York with Victoria and her family. Made the journey back to Wesleyan with a bunch of my friends, and have now moved into my cozy little room at 54 Home Ave. Getting all my stuff out of storage and then unpacking everything took a bit of work, but it’s nice to have my own place again.
The house is not that big, but spacious enough to be cozy. We share a shower upstairs, but strangely enough the only toilet on the ground floor connects into my room. I have to say I am less than delighted at the thought of people trudging through my room on the way to a washroom. Hopefully there won’t be much demand for that….
Spending a week away from Victoria sucks, but the family was going on vacation and I didn’t want to intrude any more than I have. They are now holidaying at Lake George in upstate NY, enjoying speedboats and weird massaging showerheads. Still, it gives me a chance to put my affairs on campus in order. I got my books sorted out for the semester, variably buying them from the campus bookstore, getting it out from the library, and ordering online.
Anyway, on Friday Prometheus has been asked to participant in some performance on Foss Hill. Still not to clear about details, all I know is that there will be spinning and there will be fire. I’m excited.

Life with the Zhongs
It has been a busy, busy week here with Victoria and her family, there is so much to do and so little time to do it:
- Having breakfast with Victoria and her mom every morning.
- Spending hours watching the Olympics, especially cheering on women’s gymnastics and beach volleyball.
- Putting together our 990-piece jigsaw puzzle in 3 days, taking it apart again in less than half an hour, then completing a 504-piece puzzle in a couple hours.
- Wandering around Chinatown trying to find bakgua, trying out some good Italian ice, visiting Victoria at work and bringing her lunch, and having yummy pinkberry in SOHO.
- DDR-ing in the basement and playing with my fire-staff in the backyard.
- Once again getting tickled relentlessly by my merciless girlfriend.
- Attempting to take piano lessons from Victoria… but to no avail.
- Going out to Jersey Gardens, looking at bedding for my room at Wes, and following Victoria around as she goes dress/shoe-shopping.
- Meeting both sets of grandparents, which was a completely nerve-wrecking experience.
- Watching Victoria’s mom around the kitchen and learning what kinds of home-cooked dishes my girlfriend loves.
- Playing with Victoria’s hair and wanting to spend hours brushing her hair… maybe one day she’ll let me.

Eric & Victoria Reunited
- Victoria just forcefed Eric some tea candy.. it took quite an effort
- Eric’s been making Victoria seem like SUCH a bad daughter.. doing all the dishes immediately after each meal and all D; and it’s only day 2. Her parents have been nagging at how lazy she is, especially compared to Eric.
- Eric and Victoria have been watching the Olympics with Victoria’s parents.
- Victoria has taken Eric’s mom’s job in rubbing aloe vera gel on his wound
- Eric just scratched out another piece of glass today from his head.
- Eric’s probably really sick of listening to Victoria cheer for certain Olympic teams.
… and squeal when the volleyball is about to drop or when certain swimmers are catching up with others. - Eric’s itching
- She read him bedtime stories !!
- Victoria bought Eric a new wallet!
- …and then Eric paid her back and more by buying her a Coach bag o.o
- They went to the best toy store on earth — FAO ! and got each other a 44″ Penelope&Patrick.
- Eric is always fascinated by the father-daughter interaction, especially the way Victoria always seems to be bullying her dad.
- Victoria does NOT bully her dad. HE bullies HER.
…. - Eric tried his hand (or… well… feet) at DDR-ing under Victoria’s expert tutelage. (He’s very very good for a beginner ;O)
- Eric has to get used to the dry air again, his lips are starting to crack a lil.
- Victoria has been piano-ing.
- Victoria’s mom makes good food, but neither Victoria nor Eric can eat much because of their diet.
- Poor Eric darling is sleepy but refuses to sleep ;(
- Eric has nothing more to say. Both of them are too absorbed with men’s gymnastics.
- Eric just corrected Victoria’s grammar.
- Now they will watch more Olympics.
- Victoria shall end this with.. Victoria loves Eric
very much so. <3
